Events and Activities, Past and Present!

This two-month series of events and activities from August to September, 2007, was dedicated to making the Dayton Region a more peaceful and prosperous community. The initiative has just begun. More event planning continues. Please get involved!

* From August 12 to September 16, a peace film series, “ScreenPeace,” will be hosted by the Neon Theater in Dayton and the Little Art Theater in Yellow Springs. For info and tickets, go to: www.screenpeace.org

* On Sunday, September 16, 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Dayton Convention Center, citizens of the regional Dayton community are cordially invited to participate in a “Dayton: City of Peace” Open Spaces Dialogue. Local Nobel Peace Prize scholar Irwin Abrams will introduce Peter von den Dungen, chair of the International Network of Museums for Peace, who will speak on cities of peace. A participant’s open enrollment form is available at the website: www.DaytonCityOfPeace.org, or simply call 22-PEACE.

* On Friday, September 21 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., the second annual “Peace One Day” Street Festival will feature rock bands, folk music, and activities for children and adults of all ages at Courthouse Square in downtown Dayton.
