Thanks to the legacy of the Dayton Peace Accords that stopped the war in Bosnia during 1995, Dayton means "peace" to millions of people around the world. The "Dayton: City of Peace" steering committee, comprised of a diverse, regional, cross-culture of citizens, is bringing the promise of peace home to the Dayton region.
In August and September of 2007 -- leading up to the international "Peace One Day" worldwide celebration -- a host of events and activities began which will result in a new way of looking at our community. "Dayton: City of Peace" is more than a tagline. It's a call to community action... a promise... a neighborhood revitalization effort... a business initiative... a government initiative... a spiritual calling... a creative effort to build a sustainable community with the core value of peace.
Come join the celebration! Get involved in transforming this region into a true city of peace. |
